Work In Canada

Work Permit – LMIA BASED

A Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA) is a document that an employer in Canada may need to get before hiring a foreign worker. A positive LMIA will show that there is a need for a foreign worker to fill the job. It will also show that no Canadian worker or permanent resident is available to do the job.
Applying for an LMIA work visa in Canada is a systematic, user-friendly process. It requires a number of crucial actions, all of which are necessary to guarantee adherence to Canadian immigration and employment laws. If you’re wondering how to apply for a work visa under LMIA, you must be aware of each step in order for your application to be accepted.

LMIA – Exempt Work Permit (IMP)

The Temporary Foreign Worker Program (TFWP) applies to foreign workers who must complete the Canadian government’s labour market test, known as the Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA). Foreign workers who do not need an LMIA, on the other hand, are eligible for the International Mobility Program. The TFWP allows Canadian firms to hire foreign workers when there are no suitable Canadian workers available to undertake the job. The IMP’s aim is to promote Canada’s wide economic, social, and cultural interests. Because the IMP’s policy objectives are broader, the Canadian government does not apply the LMIA process to foreign nationals who fall into any of the IMP’s streams.

Some of the most common LMIA-exempt streams under the International Mobility Program (IMP) include:

  1. • Significant Benefit
  2. • Reciprocal Employment
  3. • Charitable and Religious workers
