Provincial nominee program

New Brunswick

New Brunswick, Canada, is a beautiful province located on the east coast of the country. It’s one of the four Atlantic provinces, alongside Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island, and Newfoundland and Labrador. New Brunswick is known for its lush landscapes, including forests, rivers, and coastline along the Bay of Fundy, which has the highest tides in the world.

The province is bilingual, with both English and French being official languages, and it’s home to a diverse mix of cultures.

The New Brunswick Provincial Nominee Program (NBPNP) is an immigration pathway designed to help address the province’s labor market needs by attracting skilled workers, entrepreneurs, and international graduates who wish to settle in New Brunswick permanently. The program is aligned with the federal immigration system and allows the province to nominate individuals who meet its economic and demographic needs for Canadian permanent residency. Those wishing to immigrate to New Brunswick currently have five immigration options.

Here are the main streams under the New Brunswick PNP:

1, Skilled Worker Stream

For individuals with a job offer from a New Brunswick employer.

Applicants must have the skills, education, and work experience needed to contribute to the province’s economy.

Requirements include a full-time, permanent job offer, relevant work experience, and language proficiency in English or French.

2. Express Entry Stream

Linked to the federal Express Entry system.

Targets candidates already in the Express Entry pool who have the skills and experience needed in New Brunswick.

Applicants must meet the eligibility criteria for one of the federal economic immigration programs (Federal Skilled Worker Program, Federal Skilled Trades Program, or Canadian Experience Class).

2. Entrepreneurial Stream

For individuals who want to start, acquire, or invest in a business in New Brunswick.

Applicants must meet minimum net worth requirements, invest a certain amount in the business, and actively manage the business while residing in the province.

3. Post-Graduate Entrepreneurial Stream

For international graduates from New Brunswick institutions who want to start or operate a business in the province.

Applicants must have completed a degree or diploma from a recognized New Brunswick institution and meet specific business and investment requirements.

4. Atlantic Immigration Program (AIP)

While not exclusive to New Brunswick, the AIP is a federal-provincial partnership that allows employers in Atlantic Canada, including New Brunswick, to hire foreign workers for jobs they haven’t been able to fill locally.

The program has three streams: Atlantic High-Skilled Program, Atlantic Intermediate-Skilled Program, and Atlantic International Graduate Program.
